This weekend was the annual New Ulm Rally put on by the British Motorcycle Owners Asscoiation (BMOA) from Houston. This is a three day Rally held in Firemans Park rain or shine, more or less, held the weekend after Mothers Day.
Anyways, went to the Rally in bustiful weather...the sun was out, it was warm with a nice breeze to keep everything comfortable. Got there, signed in and then went walkabout to see the sights and what was on offer from vendors.
In the past there has been a variety of motorcycles there to see from the Old Country, this year there seemd to be a good reperesentation of Norton Commandos. There weren't too many actual vendors this time around.
Met up with some guys that I had met last year and had a blether with them for a bit before maing the rounds again.
Here's a few pics from there Rally:

Seemed to me, could be wrong, that there wasn't a big turn out like seen in the past. But then again people could've been taking the time to enjoy themselves in other ways this weekend.
Even so, it was a good day out in beautiful weather....who could ask for more?
As you say, great weather and bikes theres nothing better
ReplyDeleteThat wee Rickman with the Beeza motor looks good... and the DKW with its metalflake paint looks usable. Do you have a better pic of the "American" DKW (HD), the blue bike behind the Tiger Cub.
That Horex outfit looks great, just looks like quality.
No sorry Kawa, that was the only one of that DKW, got the Cub for a certain Cub owner....next project along with the Terrier perhaps?
ReplyDeleteWas a good day out
Bodger I was meaning the wee Harley behind the Tiger Cub as the "American" DKW as they used a copy of the the DKW engine to power the bike, just like BSA did with the Bantam
ReplyDeleteThe blue one....sorry no, didn't take one of that 'un....
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend. Seen a few "Indian" Enfields out here.Wow they raffled off a Norton scrambler? Nice looking bike.
ReplyDeleteIt was Larry....The black one and the red one in another picture are ones I've seen before.
ReplyDeleteThere was one in Kawas slide show at the NMM, a cop bike, tahtbefore, but this twins, fisrt time.
Both of them looked really nice.
I was giving it some thought in entering the raffle for the S-type. Would've liked that for the stable.
WUD YA PLEASE STOP TEMPTING ME WITH PICS OF RUSTY TIGER CUBS!!!! Think after my shopping trip on the weekend I've got the next 2 projects lines up!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Bodger and nice sunshine!!!
