Interesting

I saw this on FaceAche and thought it was kinda interesting.

Apparently it's powered by a Triumph Tiger Cub motor and it looks like it may be for speedway at first glance.

But then on closer examination, there apears to be influences from different areas.

To my eyes, both blind as a bat but what can ya do about it, there appears to be a Cub powered mountain bike, as well as speedway as mentioned.

Traffic cop

This is reminescent of the old "beat cops" that pounded the neighborhood pavements back in the old days. Need more of these old boys than the ones riding around in squad cars drinking coffee and stuffing donuts down the old pieholes.

More puzzle pieces

Well, Bodger has went and done it.....broken just about every New Years Resolution he made, more or less....

One was to keep the parts purchases to just one or two a payday....but noooooo.....eBay has an insidious way of enticing Bodgers money from his wallet.

So far no good, more parts to the puzzle that is Vicky have been bought since the start of this here 2012 year has started.

Parts such as these:

Tappets

Cylinder studs

Rear shocks

A rubber cup for the speedo as well as a throttle twist grip have also been purchased to go in the parts stash.

At this rate, Bodger will be making pretty good progress getting most of the parts ready for a start on the assembly of Vicky.

And due to being named an alternate Steward at Ye Olde Postal Salt Mines, a small stipend that comes with it can and will be used for getting more puzzle pieces.

Can't get much better than that....other than getting the nails......errrr......bikes actually together, running  and on the road.

And now for something else completely different

This is totally off topic from motorcycles or other rusty nail stuff, but this is something that just has to be seen to be appreciated.

Every year here in San Antonio there is a do called the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo which is a do to show off livestock and there's a rodeo to boot.

This goes on for about a week and besides just looking at coos, horses, chickens (preferably on the BBQ) there's also music from these country and western singer type people, as well as other forms of entertainment such as calf round-ups, bull riding and other country types of festivities.

Now, there's one that might be of interest to one and all, especially to GBC seeing how she has a few of the woolly creatures roaming around Cubbie Towers to include the fisticuffing Dennis the Dorset Ram.

This event, if you'll clicky on the linky  http://youtu.be/m61mP3rwIeg, is called Mutton Bustin' and is open to wee sprogs around 5-7 years old and weighing no more than 55 pounds in real weight, none of this metric weight thank you.

The idea is for the sprogs to be kitted out in safety stuff like a helmet and maybe some gloves and a vest, they then get plopped onto the back of a woolly beastie and holding onto the wool for dear life, they are let loose in an arena just like the bronco and bull riders are too see how long they can last on the back.

Usually it's just for a few seconds, like 1-2, some last longer like 4-5. From the sounds of it it's quite entertaining and hilarious to see and watch.

Now Bodger doesn't normally attend these country rodeo event thingies, but as his lass Teri wants to go see   Keith Urban, him that's married to Nicole Kidman, and that show is at 7:30pm, we'll nosey aboot and will be watching the Mutton Bustion' for sure.

And GBC, let Dennis and the other woolly jumpers see this so they can see what fun they're missing out on.

A Happy New Year to you all.

First things first, wot it says in the title, a Happy New Year to one and all. Hope your festivities last night were fun filled and raucous or even just fun filled.

Teri and Bodger had a nice quiet evening; we went out and did some shopping for a bottle of wine and actually found it, went to a diner that's been on the map locally for about most of the last century which is a testament on how good it is. Actually it closed down a couple of years back and was re-opened in it's present location shortly after. Some good food so there's that's reason why it's been around.

Went and met Teri's family for a bit before heading back to her place. After finding the place deserted (long and tiring story in itself) we settled back to ring in the New Year with a bottle of Shampers and some snogging before retiring for the night.

The day started with it being bright, coolish and windy but very nice. hardly any traffic on the roads as Bodger headed back to Casa Bodger to feed the roving alarms.  Made a call back home to Blighty and talked to the Old Girl for a bit and then decided to take a short nap to help with the Shampers headache from last night. It was about five hours long and most of the fog has lifted.

Bodger has learned that one medium sized bottle of bubbly is not meant to be drunk by two people very late at night when tired.....oh well.....some things are hard to learn.

The meeting the family went well by all accounts as it seems that Bodger has gotten the seal of approval. That's always a good sign when the family of the new lass likes you.

Anyways, back to the plot of the story, seems that others have been quite busy on this new day of the new year; GBC has been having her new shed area worked on and from all accounts, has had a most excellent time of it. At the rate it's going, the new shed will be up and running maybe by spring time and we'll all be dazzled by it's look and newness.

Not too sure abut others as haven't heard too much....Norman went out for a short ride and tells of a huge boulder that sits in a field doing what huge rocks do...sitting in fields.

Harry Larry has told of planned rebuilds, rock climbing and other death defying acts. Kawa hasn't mentioned anything just yet, but I'm sure we'll hear something.

Bodger doesn't usually make New Years resolutions as quite frankly, they always get broken after the first ten minutes. But this year methinks one or two will be made.

Number one will be the continued work on getting Vicky rebuilt and hopefully running; Number two is to just have a good year without any undue stress from Ye Olde Postal Salt Mines; Number three is to loss a few poundages in order to keep healthy and lastly is to enjoy things more without being to serious.

That wraps up the first new day of the new year.....
