First things first, wot it says in the title, a Happy New Year to one and all. Hope your festivities last night were fun filled and raucous or even just fun filled.
Teri and Bodger had a nice quiet evening; we went out and did some shopping for a bottle of wine and actually found it, went to a diner that's been on the map locally for about most of the last century which is a testament on how good it is. Actually it closed down a couple of years back and was re-opened in it's present location shortly after. Some good food so there's that's reason why it's been around.
Went and met Teri's family for a bit before heading back to her place. After finding the place deserted (long and tiring story in itself) we settled back to ring in the New Year with a bottle of Shampers and some snogging before retiring for the night.
The day started with it being bright, coolish and windy but very nice. hardly any traffic on the roads as Bodger headed back to Casa Bodger to feed the roving alarms. Made a call back home to Blighty and talked to the Old Girl for a bit and then decided to take a short nap to help with the Shampers headache from last night. It was about five hours long and most of the fog has lifted.
Bodger has learned that one medium sized bottle of bubbly is not meant to be drunk by two people very late at night when tired.....oh well.....some things are hard to learn.
The meeting the family went well by all accounts as it seems that Bodger has gotten the seal of approval. That's always a good sign when the family of the new lass likes you.
Anyways, back to the plot of the story, seems that others have been quite busy on this new day of the new year; GBC has been having her new shed area worked on and from all accounts, has had a most excellent time of it. At the rate it's going, the new shed will be up and running maybe by spring time and we'll all be dazzled by it's look and newness.
Not too sure abut others as haven't heard too much....Norman went out for a short ride and tells of a huge boulder that sits in a field doing what huge rocks do...sitting in fields.
Harry Larry has told of planned rebuilds, rock climbing and other death defying acts. Kawa hasn't mentioned anything just yet, but I'm sure we'll hear something.
Bodger doesn't usually make New Years resolutions as quite frankly, they always get broken after the first ten minutes. But this year methinks one or two will be made.
Number one will be the continued work on getting Vicky rebuilt and hopefully running; Number two is to just have a good year without any undue stress from Ye Olde Postal Salt Mines; Number three is to loss a few poundages in order to keep healthy and lastly is to enjoy things more without being to serious.
That wraps up the first new day of the new year.....
What, if any, resolutions do you plan on making and hopefully keeping????

Hey Bodger, just left something for you at my blog. One of my more 'death-defying' acts will be replacing the inner tube on my 'push-bike' and going for a little pedal tomorrow. Along with consuming less food, gonna get back into bicycles. No excuse, with the lack of rain and warmer weather just recently. Just had a look at all the earth moving going on at 'Cubbie-land'. What a project! Speaking of Kawa...seems he was talking about a Triumph project just a wee bit ago. Norman seems to think his clothes have shrunk, maybe that's it...wait a minute that scale doesn't lie. Here's to a great year, and don't let work get you, (constantly working on that one myself) and I really am going into the shed for a recon mission to locate that Victor tank!
ReplyDeleteCheers for the Rabers info Larry, I'll have to have a looks see later on when the chaos dies down.
ReplyDeleteHave decided that work isn't worth getting stressed over too much so I'll just roll with the punches when needed. Being with Teri the new lass has been a BIG help in the stress department and for her too, she teaches 2nd grade!
The tank....any suggestions as far as the "chrome" or polished look on the back end of it? From looks of it, someone had taken sandpaper to the entire tank and roughed it up prior to painting it before I got it. Need something that'll look good on there along with the yellow or possibly a darkish green perhaps.
Should be able to polish up the aluminum again, after rubbing out the scratches with various grades of paper. Still digging into the shed, found 2 alloy tanks that were not off of the Victor, and the spare head for the Commando. Where I thought I'd find the Victor tank on the BSA 650, I found the original steel 650 tank. Which means the Victor tank must be in the storage unit with the rolling chassis...or not. Got a lot of boxes of stuff to go through. It's been years since I've seen a lot of this stuff. The old memory ain't what she used to be.
