You asked for it....

I did say I had done some organizing...well I did, just not where the shed is spic and span, if there is such thing in a shed.

Most of the organizing was putting parts into containers so they would'nt go walkabout. Some was just re-arranging things so they were out of the way and some was getting rid evidence of the Bodger indulging in adult type beverages instead of actual bodgery type work.

So, if you clicky on the link thingy below you'll see something:

You'll notice that one of the roving alarms has made an appearance to keep a protective watch on the proceedings

There's also a couple of shots of Vicky when she first arrived at the shed. A sad state of affairs for what once was a proud and useful beast.

Also, I think there's a shot of Bodgers new Belstaff/Barbour style wax cotton jacket acquired while back in Blighty. A product review will be done at a later date.

Organizing

No, it's nothing to do with playing the organ like you might think, but rather the organizing of the shed, a little bit.

Yesterday SWMBO had her son and grand-daughter over, which gave me the perfect excuse to go to the shed, so I did.

I decided that in order to do the rebuild of  Vicky it might be a good idea to do like Kawa mentioned by putting parts into containers and labelling them. So that's what I did more or less.

So I put the forks into one storage container along with a few other bits, most of the motor parts into another container and frame/chassis parts into yet a third container.

This makes it a little easier to move them around if need arises as well as keeping all the parts together without losing what I've obtained so far as well as the knackered old bits that came off Vicky when I began this process.

As well as some organization, it also cleared up some room on the work benches plus some needed room to swing a cat if I should ever want to do that.

But I'll still need a few more storage containers for the parts still needed for the rebuild. But then again it may be easier and cheaper to just look for another COMPLETE Victor Special and ride that. But where's the fun in that????

There isn't any 'cause it's more funner to rebuild and restore a motorcycle yerself which is the whole idea of this bloggy thing right!!!!!

Speaking of which, I've been trawling eBay for parts. It's a neverending job, but it's worth it.

Stay tuned.

Resolutions

Everyone makes (and breaks) resolutions for the New Year, including The Bodger. Actually I've already broken one, eating healthier. But that'll be back on track, just takes will power.

One that I made was to get to cracking on getting Vicky the Victor Special rebuilt and I've already started on that.

A few days ago I bought off eBay a repo tail-light assembly for the rear end. It was a good price and I do need one to put on the rear-end, so I bought it. Should be seeing it in a day or two.

But I still need to get more bits and bobs in order for the rebuild to really get underway. So to that end, I'll be getting pieces as they come up on eBay or wherever else and I'll do it sections at a time such as the forks first, then the frame, then the rear , then the motor then everything else. But ONLY after I have the bits for that section.

But if something comes up that is either a good buy or is once in a blue moon (such as a fuel tank), that'll be bought then and there if I'm lucky enough to get it.

The reason for the sections at a time is to get everything together then assemble it plus it's easier to move a rolling chassis around than it is to move deadweight about from place to place. Sounds like a plan don't it?

One thing that'll get done while on the look out for parts is to paint everything when the weather turns better. I heard about a primer paint that also doubles as a filler so I'll give that a try to see how it works. Then I'll do the top coats with the spray gun I bought last year.

As I'm not a pro and the only painting of this type I've ever done was on Cluster Bombs while in Okinawa nearly 30 years ago, it'll be a learning experience. But in case of any problems, I have a mate a few miles from me that can help out with advice if needed.

So until them, stay tuned and I'll start having so stuff posted up as it progresses.

Cheers for now.
