Vintage Scrambles - Grandstand




Here's a clip of some vintage scrambles with some of the greats of yesteryear taking part. You can hear who they are at the beginning. Though Bodger never watched on the boobtube, BBC used to show scrambles every Saturday on the TV and apparently there was quite a following there as well as at the events themselves.

    Oh, that takes me back! I remember as a small boy watching the scrambling on BBC Grandstand.

    Norman this is a great clip with some of the old "masters" in it; Eastwood (Vic not Clint), Bickers, Smith, etc.

    Hard to believe that Bickers on the Greeves led, even lapped, for most of the race and the end with Bickers and Jeff Smith fighting for first was excellent.

    Wish I had watched this back then instead of faffing about as a 15 y/o does.
