A good read

The other day I got this and have already finished.....and yes....I can read believe it or not.

Actually this is a really good book and Mick wrote this pretty much how people would talk, not any of this flowery nonsense but down to earth everyday talk with humor. This is not all dry or boring.

If you get a chance to read it, do it, I think you'll enjoy it, I know I did.

  1. I met Mick when he was Guest of Honour at a 2 day classic event at Knockhill Racetrack, here in Scotland. He had retired by then, but still brought both a trails bike and a road race bike (a Formula 1 Suzuki, if I remember clearly), and competed on both days. I didn't see him in the trials, but he was still very fast out on the track.
When not competing, he would mingle with the crowd, always happy to chat with people, sign autographs, etc. At the prize giving he gave a very interesting and funny talk about his career, and told a lot of amusing anecdotes about his involvement with the ill fated Honda NR500 project.
A thoroughly pleasant and friendly man who hadn't lost touch with ordinary riders, and as he and his wife ran a cattery, he brought his bikes in a van with 'Happy Cats' painted on the side!

  2. Pleasant and friendly, that's pretty much much what I thought. He's one bloke I want to meet and get his autograph.
