Facebook

Not really to do much with motorcycles I know......but yesterday, I found an old friend on Faceache, haven't seen in 27 years.

At first there were a couple of postings, one of which is if I still had my Commando.....answer, sadly, was no, it's long gone.

Then after swapping info he gives a call and we have a blether for about an hour.

Used to think that Faceache was pretty much a waste of time, but then found that you can get connected with like minded blokes and bloke=esses and thru the poower of the 'net, become "friends" with some of the big names in the motorcycling world....won't be a name dropper here.

So, I guess this "social networking" stuff isn't too bad then.

  2. You haven't run across anyone you knew from years on back????

Now I find that hard to believe coming from someone who such as herself...friends from school, Blogland, etc...there must be someone

  3. Seems you get two, make that three things happening. Either you remain anonymous which I'd probably prefer. Or you do get reconnected to old friends, which might be nice. And I heard sometimes someone you'd rather not hear from shows up. I don't know, I guess you got the good and bad of Facebook. I got enough going without being connected to a humongous social network...
Which brings me to "Blogger". I see GBC's blog shows a new post for the site...yet the link on your blog and Hazel's doesn't bring you there...it still connects to the previous post. I tried several ways to find "Botheration and Skorpion gloom". More Blogger frustration, some still can't post at other's sites...in fact I tried to leave a comment at one site, and only ended up "following" my own site....oh well...and couldn't rectify that mistake. But that wasn't as bad as losing an entire post and having to re-do it. At least the week ends here, and I get to play with bikes.

  6. Damn...sorry for all the typos....hard to see the screen coz of glare and balance the laptop inside those aluminum cans we drive around in...not at the same time just in case you're wondering.

My bud was stationed with me back in Virginia, he had just came from Guam and I from Korea...did get into some mischief there and with me being just a couple of years older and with more rank, I should've known better....but it never stopped me!

  7. Funnily enough, not many people I was at school with went on to know me as GBC, so I've managed to stay fairly annonnymouse, which is how i like it. Made some good contacts though across the world, mostly through Blogger but a few on FB. Sorry about the Botheration post, it'll be back as soon as I get time to finish it, which, while the house water pump is causing further BOTHERATION (yes, with capitals!) won't be in the near future!!!

  8. Know what ya mean about the contacts....only a couple from the outside world so to speak....more from Bloggerland or Faceache.

Water pump will be botheration with big letters...will be on the look out for updates in the future

BTW....who won the t-shirt, hint hint....????

  9. You know, maybe you two Blogger/pros could help me with a little botheration I'mma goin' through. I have tried numerous times to add a "blogs I follow list" to my blog, with absolutely zero effect. Following instructions as I see them, is there a trick to it? Please don't tell me it's easie-peasie...ha haha.

  10. On the Dashboard page of Blogger, there's a link about halfway down about "Following". Click on that and it might be of ssome use.

I say might as everytime I do soemthing on here other than psoting or comments, it's like learning all over again.

Like with posting pics....even though I may have them at a decent size and want them positioned a certain way, when it gets published, the page pics are all in place, jsut not the way I wanted them to be.

    Still learning...........
